Just started listening to Queen of the Night and finding it perfect for right now!

One of the things I only realized after my memoir's manuscript was complete (and as I revised the proposal to match) was that I wasn't just telling a coming out story (for *all* my closets), but it was also a discovery of queer joy. I suppose I had also constructed a closet for that emotion.

What also struck me in this post was realizing how much of my self is perceived (by Wu, and by me, it seems) as my loves and friendships. If I am allowed to contradict Sartre, others are not hell; others are *me*. Peeling them away might indeed be hell, though. To stand alone.

More coffee. This is way too purple for a Friday morning.
