Absolutely LOVED this conversation! Thank you Alex and Jami for your generosity of spirit (and Leo for his cameo ;) On my way now to explore Alex’s summer teaching offerings while offering a deep bow of gratitude to the moderators who are supporting all of us upon the #1000wordsofsummer 2025 journey💖

I thoroughly enjoyed the engaging conversation with Alexander Chee and Jami Attenberg. Two literary titans delving into the craft of writing—it doesn't get much better than that. Chee's insight on using laughter as a barometer for one's writing is sheer genius. Even if humor isn't the goal, the ability to evoke a smile or a chuckle from oneself is a testament to the authenticity and resonance of the work. In these trying times of 2025, such advice is more pertinent than ever.
