I love reading about your literary dreams. It’s like stepping into a magical realist world. And thank you for bringing attention to the harms and downright weirdness of AI. I look forward to each of your newsletters.
Loved this! The "old library" at the Universidad de Salamanca had an amazing, moment in time layout and amazing to think of Unamuno famously dissing the Franco forces in there. Borges has an amazing short story about the infinite library and staircases and whatnot, feels a bit Harry Potter and Netflix Squidgames tbqh
when you visit USAL, they have a massive cool goth siding with a frog that when you see it, you are going to fall in love. I never saw it, and just had to dance the nights away at the chupiteria and Camelot (discoteca) in a never ending tragic carousel of situationships. Poor me.
yeah it had some decent EDM, but Capital in Madrid was multistory and had barely dressed dancers of all genders on elevated platforms. That was the hotspot.... iheard... from a sketchy pal or two who went there
I am still on Twitter with a burner ragebaiting Nazis with nuremburg and Dresden pics AND also following USal (Universidad de Salamanca) and some amazing pics. Unamuno said in very Castillian third person plural "Vencereis mas jamas convencereis" (TW I am too lazy to learn gringo keyboard shortucts for accents)
Such an interesting juxtaposition- the humility in Eco's library and the arrogance of AI.
Not sure how that could be anything except horror. But that bookplate!
It’s faintly if not strongly demonic but also funny?
Haha I can't tell if you're talking about the documentary or the bookplate
😂

Now I want to visit that library also. I need to dig that story out, it comes up so much of late.

I will look for the frog. And maybe Camelot! What a great name for a disco…
